ELEVATION FALLS

Elevation Falls is a young rock band hailing from Dublin, Ireland fronted by the exceptional vocal talent of Hazel Jade. She is naturally compared to female fronted bands such as Evanescence, Halestorm, Heart and Fleetwood Mac. You will never mistake the distinct and powerful vocals of this young singer.

Having just completed their first mini-album of 7 songs, some of which were produced by Ray Traynor (The Script, coronas) and Joey Jewell (Aslan), they're now performing around the country in Ireland with their material and plan to hit continental europe in the Spring of 2016.

Previous hits, such as 'Higher' have obtained FM radio play on rotation in Ireland and further afield. Their second release, 'Watching Over You', featured a cameo performance from the Queen of Irish Rock, Philomena Lynott (Thin Lizzy's Phil Lynott's mom!), who has supported the band throughout.

They are also no strangers to performing abroad, having formed effectively at the beginning of 2013, they've graced London, Northern Ireland, Glastonbury. Fringe Festval, Osijek UFO Festival (Croatia) and have performed at some of the top festivals in Ireland including Electric Picnic, Vantastival, Sunflower Festival and many more.

Elevation Falls' music harks back to the great rock bands of the 80's but brings their own unique edge to their performances. We took a listen to their tracks, old and new.

PREVIOUS RELEASES

Higher. A classic love song that soars into the chorus.

Watching Over You - A song about the loss of loved ones and how the singer comforts those in need with the words that they are still 'Watching Over You'. A beautiful melody, with meaningful lyrics, written by the lead singer Hazel Jade when one of the band members lost their grandmother.

Holding back the tears while you say goodbye… Memories stay from the start and you remember while watching. Words will never be the same but you can still regain….

CURRENT RELEASES

  • Lately – Heavy bass and a wailing guitar is the beginning of the introduction to Hazel’s voice. Feeling splintered and sorry for saying too much, it has come to a point where you feel you are lost. How do you find your way back to loving?

‘Origins' represents over a year of work and recording, and from that, the best was chosen from a selection of songs.  The lead track (Goodbye To You), was written 3 years ago about the appalling suffering of families during the internal war in Syria, and references how the 1st world watched through news feeds and social media as the disaster unfolded, expressing comments of sadness and horror, then moving on to the next entertainment buzz, or fashion tip, effectively doing nothing for the suffering of those people.  Governments also stand by, more concerned about the ‘black gold’ of oil than they are about any humanitarian disaster.  It’s strange that this song is as relevant now, as when it was written.

  • Infinite Always - Love knows no bounds. It's Infinite. In the dark there is always light. She holds on to you. Hazel's voice reaches the depths of what really matters. You can hear her heart felt emotions. Always.

  • May You Be - At a slower tempo, the hurt shows through Hazel's voice. Bitter lies twisted. Regret for what was and could have been. It was only you. Do you wish you still had me? Well, I'm over you now. May you be.

  • Souls Burning - Is a heavy rocking blues tune. Drums rolling; a growling guitar... With nightmares surrounding you, are you going to be the fire, the devil? Be grateful for what you do have. Be someone that makes a change.

  • Brought Me Down - The guitar wails if to ask "Why?" When you reach a glory moment, it seems as though there is someone out there who will bring you down. Feelings are empty now. Who will love you now? Erase the pain away.

  • Tonight - There are always those dark feelings at night. Arguments prevail. Tears fall down like rain. Love is wanted but where? Hold on tight. A way is found.

This is an excellent start from a young band with writing skills beyond their years. Hazel Jade's vocals continue to entertain, provoke and just downright impress. The ranges and breadth of rock styles are embraced fully and you will be surprised as you listen to each track. This band will be going places so keep an eye out for them! Full marks! We're impressed.

Hoping to see the band live in the USA soon too!
