Never afraid to try new things, drawing influence from every experience and every journey, Barry has really treasured every moment, maturing greatly since his debut.

Tried and Treasured  fits right into the heart of Barry Jay Hughes. With subtle blends of Folk, Rock, Traditional and Jazz influences, this EP beautifully illustrates a variety of topics from equality, to travel and life experiences using color, imagery and storytelling.

  • One Petal Down - A different color is wanted other than the color of sadness. Thoughts of people gather around from the death of a loved one. The memories and the love brought forth are stacked up high. Which rearranged thought brings you inside of yourself?

  • Crying Shame - The window paints a picture. You could hear a thousand words right now and if you opened one up what would it say? With many you could scream out. He still misses you.

  • Full Circle - After being on the road a long time, his travels finally were brought full circle. After being lost his mind has cleared. Everything has been treasured.

  • Medieval City - It begins like a tune from a foreign land, an opening of a scene. Adventure time. Everything is hopping over at the clubhouse. They're getting ready. Let the battle begin.

  • Ballad Of A Troubadour - Stepping out into the spotlight again from the wanting of more. Turn around so you can see through the darkness and the rain. Everything is waiting to be felt and heard, the feeling of medieval love.

Rhythmic Folk - Alternative Rock. As a songwriter, Barry Jay Hughes has what it takes to bring his audience on a journey. As a performer he gives you everything an acoustic folk/rock artist should: Passion - Honesty - Raw Talent. To find out more about Barry go to:
