AMERICAN HIGH

American high is from sacramento, California. Their Music is influenced by the 60's and punk. the band members are D.T. - rhythm guitar, E.S. - lead guitar, F.M. - Bass Guitar and T.M. - Drums. you can compare their music to the likes of the beatles, Nirvana, Green day, the jayhawks, ween and tom petty. they deeply respect those writers who are able to create with multiple layers but in their own way. Songs become more interesting when they can be seen in different ways; optimistic perspective on the personal,, the social and the political. American High produced the record.  It was recorded and mixed by Joe Johnson of Pus Cavern Studios .

The band likes to focus on exploring the duality of human existence. Those of us living behind iron bared windows, with crumbling foundations compared to those living safely in the penthouse with cool breezes blowing past tasteful art. They wanted to point out the equality of each person's worth and hope to humbly present that sometimes there are Bones in the attic and flowers in the basement. Happy songs with dark themes. The songs orbit themes of love lost or never found, self doubt, and lost hope. The cost of war, denies the obvious truth that each of us was born with. These include  inherent liberties, of some thinking that maybe they are smarter,, better,, worth more, Of encouraging our sisters and brothers to believe in themselves and of their inherent worth. Most of all they wanted to scream from the highest rooftop it's about peace, freedom and liberty.

American High's new album is an anti-war record. Songs like SEPTEMBER and I CAN'T CHANGE are Their attempt to put a human face on the costs of trying to force the world to do what we want them to do.

  • Fairfield, Ca - Guitar strumming then the full band kicks in. A bus ride. suicide. Transfer ticket to go. and if i never get there it just means i wasn't meant to go.  . . . .

  • moon - guitar reverb. Shake up 60's. It's colder. It's colder out in space and you know. without warmth nothing ever grows. so search each night the sky one by one. To them the stars unto you are the sun.  . . . .

  • Pretty baby - Upbeat guitars and drum. September's raining in my head. What's that thing you always said. i found that photograph of you. the one where you're turning away.  . . . .

  • Sister,, Don't Believe it- Steady strumming with 2nd guitar accents and drums. Don't believe the things he said you know they never come true. But that's you. you're always looking for the one who can rescue.  . . . .

  • September - come on, come on, Come on, Come on, Come on down with me. 60 seconds in the sun and then we're both free,. It won't be long,.  . . . .   Pop Rock.

  • Sensei - Seagulls,, the sound of crashing waves and a boat creaking in the water then fast music. I want to live on a boat and get the feel of the ocean. I want to work in a garden. Plenty of food for everyone.  . . . .

  • 1.17.61 - easy strumming. everything is a mess and i must confess i love everything you do. He never could have cured your blues. 'cause pain is deep that's a part of you. there is no cure you'll never be immune.  . . . .

  • Bunny - Happy pop music. We are down just like sunsets. See what's happening at the zoo. What did you see? If I could, I would set it free if i could.  . . . .

  • Test Pilot - Strong background guitar with sweet guitar riffs in the front then full band. Study up. Maybe you said everything will be alright. Facing the dark and even in the dead of night there is still starlight. you turn your head away throughout the din. I believe you're still sleeping.  . . .

  • Warm Words Flow - Words Spoken then an easy going protest like tune. Stabilize. All the love that I saw none was looking at me. All I had was one. People all around. Where are they now? . . . .

  • I can't change- Warm happy strumming switching back and forth to sad then full band. You can get lost at first and then you start to change. and one day the thought occurs. i may not make it home. now the real world seems strange.  . . . .

  • Forgive+Forget You - Progressive pop rock beat. I want to burn it down Forever. So when you see me you can't try to pretend. To Pretend.  . . . .

  • Berty's never gone -  A Bouncy pop rock beat. we were all born with sovereign dna. These simple truths can't be taken away. so when they said they're taking jane, tina and molly i wondered who's next.  . . . .

They tried to make each song completely unique with a totally different sound for each. Weird chords with weird changes,,weird blueprints,,weird harmonies and backward leads. Happy singers singing dark songs of love lost depict the costs of constant war, While screaming into the night""WAKE UP!"!"To find out more about American High go to:
