EL GREY

El Grey, also known as Marta Lukaszewicz, from Dublin, beautifully fuses electronics, indie and rock with ethereal touches. Her music is an alt blend of dream rock, quirky acoustic, minimalism, cinematic, trip-hop and jazz. The melodies are haunting and passionate. Her vocals are distinctive with improvisations. Her angelic voice can give you exquisite chills on the back of your neck. The members of her band are El Grey (singer, songwriter, acoustic guitar, ukulele and musical arrangements) and Chris Topher (percussion, computer-generated instruments/midi, guitar and ukulele). El was born in Gdansk, Poland. She has since moved and has now been based in Bray, Co. Wicklow for over 9 years. Living in Ireland and being exposed to the Celtic music endeared her further to the Irish culture. She blends the two and adds her own touches. The first track she ever released was 'Woolly Hat' which came out at the end of 2011. El has since released more tracks since 2014. ‘Tune In’ the beginning of the song starts out with electronics high enough to bring chills to the back of your neck and her voice isn’t even into play yet. The song talks about risking your soul towards change and if it is something that you really want to do. A smiling face beckons you. El’s voice plays right into the music to make you a part of it. Tune into her frequency. The electronics raise their power along with her singing.

'I Won't Go', again, starts out with a stringed instrument this time sending goose bumps to the back of your neck. Don't fear what you see. Don't fear what you hear. Don't fear what your heart feels. It's beautiful. The haunting chills continue. She won't go away. El brings you higher with her voice and the guitar reverbs. Her passion blends further with powerful electronics.
