CHILDREN in PARADISE

Children in Paradise, from Belle-Isle-en-Terre, Bretagne, invite you to travel into the Sidh, the other Celtic world, somewhere beyond the horizon of the sea. Travel between myths, dreams and reality located within these beautiful islands of deep peace, harmony and purity. They are a progressive band composed of authentic musicians. Dam Kat - music and vocals, Gwalchmei - guitar, surrounded by Patrick Boileau - arrangements and Drums,  Stéphane Rama - bassist and uilleann pipes) with Loic Blejean on low whistles along with Carré Manchot, Arsys, KelticTales / Boclé Brothers, and Jean Marc Illien. The band was formed during the summer of 2007.

The atmospheric music inspires Celtic Legends of Irish and Welsh Mythology. Dam Kat’s fairy voice is so fresh and full of emotions. The notes are loaded with salts and break on the ears like the waves of the ocean without shaking the ground. The light menaces with the sky as the clouds are gently pushed away. The emotions dwell in the interior and are brought forth with the music’s urging of heavenly surreal purity. It's the progression from the after thoughts keeping you entranced.

  • ‘The Battle’ starts out gently then children shriek in the background. Dam’s voice, enchantingly, enters the realm. She wants all to faire well especially her love and her sweet. The pipes work at your gut with all its strength to lead to her enticing voice again. This is an extended version and well worth listening to. Dark and beautiful. Rocking.

  • ‘King Arthur’s Death’ starts out with birds singing leading into a guitar. So softly, a voice, then a progressive guitar. Kat sounds very forlorn in her pleas as she sings. She will wait for him.

  • ‘My Son’ tells about what a Mother’s son will have to face. It’s a shared lullaby. She wants to be with him but knows she cannot be. She will miss him so she wants one more time together with him before he goes.

  • ‘Little Butterfly’ starts out with the fluttering wings of a guitar that tells of a child coming to full blossom. The butterfly is let free to fly. Mother wants to hold the butterfly again and would do anything to do so. So she thinks of him and wishes him well. The mother’s love is always there. The music gently sweeps you with her call.

  • ‘I’m Not Scared’ brings out the pipe playing its varied tune. Kat’s voice tells not to be afraid of the unknown. Just open your soul and your arms. Open your heart. The pipes leave a beautiful eerie tune alongside her voice. It tugs at you. Love is there but a new light is inviting. It’s magical.

Atmospherical environments and atmospheres bring the power of the sacred music. It's like a dance... between, Rock, Prog, Metal & Celtic music ... sometimes between darkness and melancholy.
