Skinner & T'witch

Skinner and T'witch are a Leeds based, original folk duo: 'Music to melt the heart. Driving rhythms, strong vocal harmonies and a flamenco-inspired guitar style'.

Amongst their own original material they also combine the many influences of British folk, flamenco, musicals, jazz, classical and 'world' music.

In 2014 they launched their debut album 'Rise' which includes a powerful mix of musicians. At the album launch they also launched the film of the shadow play for their song 'Dance The Moment'.

Dance The Moment

Also, in 2014, they played live on The Durbervilles Folk &Roots Show on BBC Radio Leeds, and on Genevieve Tudor's Folk Show on BBC Radio Shropshire on February 15th 2015.

  • Dance The Moment - When the moon shines at night, lighting up a painted sky, this is when you celebrate the moments. Flamenco and alternate singing sets the stage for the movement of dance.

  • Castles in the Sky - A folk tune with an upbeat tempo. Living a righteously so that when this world is left behind, we have created and built our castles in the sky. Beautiful harmonies.

  • Sleeping Rough - A sad folk tune. When one is bothered and kept in worries within their minds, the best thing to do is to leave them alone. Haunting and beautiful. A violin, in the original song, gives added depth.

  • King of the River - What controls the river? The current does. It is the king of the river making all elements play in synchronicity. Voices tag each other then harmonize. A worldly tone is given to this song.

  • How can I compare thee? -  Can you compare to a summer's day? Are you beheld in beauty more than stars shining in the night? All that you are is worth more. A folk sound with a blues feel and Spanish touches.

  • Past Lives - In this song are rememberances about what you felt you were in lives gone by. Could you have been in war or could you have been a farmer's daughter? Had they ever met before? had their love always been consumated? When that day is finally realized, you find out that it was and they were. Beautiful harmonies.

  • Osney Town - Love happens in Osney Town and the memories of it all are still held in its heartbeats. Even when you are far away, all stays within. Guitar is at a good tempo.

  • God, where are you? - Throughout all the chaos, why are these things still happening disturbing peaceful ways. Things become lost when there is a war. God, where are you? Please take my hand and give me comfort. A gentle yet poignant folk tune. Leading vocals and another voice follows in harmony.

  • Rise, Sister, Rise - Wandering in the darkness of life, you reach out for the light and learn lessons along the way. Rise above each test and fly. In death, rise from the life you've lived. Seek the love and rise. Harmonies.

'Skinner & T'witch are a really great folk duo who entertain and enthral listeners with a unique blend of harmony, humour and heart felt music who are an absolute joy to listen to.
