THE PUSS PUSS BAND

The Puss Puss Band are a two piece, mainly studio, based outfit from Cardiff, South Wales. The band members are: Asa Galeozzie - guitar, vocals, piano, drums, melodica and tap shoes, Lee Pugh- guitar, vocals, piano and mouth trumpet and John 'Rabbit' Bundrick - Hammond organ, piano and SFX. John Douglas Rabbit Bundrick is an American rock keyboardist, pianist and organist. He is best known for his work with The Who and associations with others including Eric Burdon, Bob Marley and the Wailers, Roger Waters, Free and Crawler. Asa and Lee have worked with numerous artists and bands in the UK and the Welsh music industry over the last ten years as writers and session musicians  while also developing their sound engineering and studio production skills. After a break from the industry, Galeozzie and Pugh once again began writing, arranging and producing the material that would go on to become The Puss Puss Band. Influenced by the compositional and music genius of artists such as Brian Wilson, Burt Bacharach, David Bowie, Neil Young and Bill Nelson; Galeozzie and Pugh began shaping the idea of an amalgamation of simple pop rock songs and more sonically ambitious 'pocket epics'

with every idea being conceived, written, performed, engineered and produced by themselves. With big emphasis on pure, honest, fearless songwriting and intricate woven melodies, The Puss Puss Band aim to blend in the stripped bare version of acoustic indie pop and rock with hints of the more classically refined and warmer elements of jazz, folk and blues to create songs and arrangements that don't easily fall into a pigeonholed genre.

April of 2017 saw the release of their debut album ECHOES ACROSS THE CRUEL SEA which features a guest appearance throughout by John Rabbit Bundrick on piano, Hammond organ and synths. The Puss Puss Band are currently promoting their new album and recently performed numerous live sets including a live acoustic set for the BBC.

  • Bucko's Lullaby - An xylophone plays a simple tune. A guitar follows in then the song becomes a much more richer melody. 'Rows and rows of hanging clothes. Two cups of tea with your pretty nose.   .  .  .  .'

  • Alone - Guitar leading into a fuller sound when the song begins. 'Lately I long to lose my mind. Maybe just all reason. Every trace of space and time  you said it's alright to cry.   .  .  .  .'

  • Fall Back Down - A gentle melody begins the song - 'Stay with me tonight. I promise. . . I'll make it alright. Is it too much to hope? Holding back from.  .  . everything.   .  .  .  .'  The song then picks up a beautiful tempo.

  • Cliff Song - Guitar and organ intro leading into full jazzy rock. 'Ain't it funny how you're cool when there's nobody in the room? It's just the way you say these things you do.   .   .   .   .'

  • Inwake - Guitar and accompanying music feels like the gentle rocking of the waves against a boat. 'Can we help of this change in season or are you just like me? The things that we feel seem less than real.   .   .   .   .'

  • Bees Wax - 2 notes playing together in separate intervals like the ringing of a bell and how it hits the two sides then stops but echoes. The song then changes its tune and becomes fuller. 'Yeah you ain't got nothing but time to rest your eyes on starry skies.   .   .   .   .'

  • Say It First - Easy going guitar riffs leading into the song. 'I cried most nights, I know you did too. And I was right sometimes. Just maybe not as. . often as you.   .   .   .   .'

  • Thinking Of You -  The music starts out slowly then builds even more as the song progresses. 'I'm still thinking of you. Do you ever think about me? Or are we just distant history?  .   .   .   .'

  • Feline Fine - Cymbals, drums, guitar and piano playing an easy going jazz tune. 'You got me laughing on a cloudy day. Singing in the pouring rain. You got me feline fine.   .   .   .   .'

  • End Of June - The tune begins a little off in a cohesive manner. Guitar, drum and keyboards. The  melody gels once the singing begins. 'Five years on, in a song Your melody Lingers on, to prolong The memory of   .   .   .   .'

  • Perfect World - Gentle guitar strumming to begin with. Added instruments enrich the tune. 'In a perfect world you would be mine. Our hearts would fly south with the ducks in the sky And I would make it clear for you.   .   .   .   .'

  • Not Just You - A pretty tune. Easy rock with guitar. piano and drums. 'She was born royalty. Eastern valley slag heap queen To you and me.   .   .   .   .'
