MATT DAVIS

Matt Davis is originally from Huntington Beach, California and is now living in Manhattan, New York. He began writing songs at the age of 12 and desired to become a singer at the age of 5. He started to take some guitar lessons from a teacher at school. This enhanced his love of music and it became a big part of his life. He writes all of his music. Matt's inspirations and influences are love stories, Michael Jackson, The Beatles and New York. He feels that all the artists around the area give off a cool vibe which helps to motivate his writing.

Matt has a velvet voice like an angel, and can write lyrics like a visionary. You can really get to know him through his songs. It’s almost like his healing process so the songs on his debut EP were put together to be kind of uplifting and getting rid of negative things in the healthiest way. He also plays piano and loves to dance. His favorite places to go are the piano bars in the West Village. His special hangout is The Duplex where he feels he can just relax and have fun singing. He'd also likes to develop his energy into performing to the likes of Bruno Mars and Beyoncé entertaining aggressively with interesting aesthetics, visual videos and rounding it out with a slow ballad.

Matt's newest album called Life is a four song collection about, “Trying to find the ability to fall into your happiest mindset even when people are saying you aren’t good enough, smart enough, talented enough and figuring out what kind of people you need in your life and the kind of people you don’t”.

  • Life - About moving from LA to New York, keeping an open mind to different experiences and finding his new life. Rhythm and pop. 'Sometimes life gets you down but at least I have my friends to bring me up.  . . . .  I wanna hop into a car and maybe drive to New York City and see what life brings me.  . . . .'

  • Head Over Heels - He's almost ready to feel the love for her but wasn't sure. One day it will happen. The video is the shorter version. Synth electronic pop. 'It's three o'clock in the morning and I just wanna dance, dance with you. So I can have the chance to tell you how I'm feeling  . . . .'

  • I'm Just Here Rockin' - Background harmonies as he sings the lead. It starts out slow and then works into a dance tune. 'And I'm just here rockin'. Fans are hard up but baby please don't touch. 'Cause I was too preoccupied loving you too damn much.  . . . .'

  • Steady - Synth pop and electronics. Dream and dance. 'Steady. . . . . When you look at me like that I really can't help myself.  . . . .'

Matt's songs are inspired by art, fashion and the positive and negatives in life. To find out more about this artist and his music go to:
